I’m passionate about carefully formulating healthier skincare alternatives. What started as a personal interest in optimizing natural skincare ingredients quickly transitioned into a mission- Spread awareness on the benefits of beef tallow and provide trustworthy bars of soap. Through the creative process of handcrafting soaps, I developed tallow bars made with comforting, skin-safe ingredients—without sacrificing the quality of your everyday skincare routine.

Clare’s Story

Tallow House became official in 2025, but the values and purpose behind it unfolded much before. Starting at a young age, I fit the ‘sensitive’ category, dealing with eczema and other various inflammatory issues. Dealing with these sensitivities shifted my focus - and values - towards educating myself on how to nurture my body. I am a firm believer that changes to day-to-day ingredients add up and can contribute to a healthier lifestyle, so I got to work.

I graduated from Michigan State in 2023 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. At this time I developed a profound appreciation for the scientific method and desire to gain a deep understanding of the world around me. When I started my full-time position as a Manufacturing Engineer, I began experimenting with new creations in my free time, discovering which ingredients worked best for my skin.

I quickly realized I wanted to transition creating homemade products from a hobby into a way of life. I began sharing my soap creations with family and friends to which there was overwhelmingly positive feedback. This was the push to make Tallow House official. I hope to use my skills to help others via skincare products that support and work in harmony with our skin.

    Farmer’s sourced grass-fed beef tallow.

    Olive Oil

    Traditionally used oil found in ancient soaps like Castile soaps. Praised for all-purpose, gentle, and moisturizing capabilities.

    Sodium Hydroxide

    Necessary for the soap making reaction. Traditionally harvested from wood ashes.

    Cocoa Butter

    Ingredient attributed to soap bar hardness, creamy lather, calming and moisturizing properties.

    Castor Oil

    Traditionally used as a medicinal oil; commonly attributed to improved lather and humectant (moisturizing) properties.

    Fatty Alcohol commonly used in cosmetic products. Naturally derived from palm or coconut oils, this ingredient is attributed to foam stability.
