Hi, I’m Clare,

Chemical Engineer, Artisan, and Entrepreneur.

I’m passionate about creating carefully formulated, artisan soap products made from beef tallow. What started as a journey to discover which skincare ingredients worked best for me soon turned into a mission to spread awareness of healthier skincare alternatives. Through the creative process of handcrafting soaps, I developed tallow bars made with comforting, skin-safe ingredients—without sacrificing the quality of your everyday skincare routine.

Quality and thoughtful ingredients are not a trade-off—you deserve both.

Clare’s Story

In 2025, the idea of Tallow House began to sprout, but how I got there was its own journey entirely. Growing up, I struggled with eczema and food sensitivities, which made me more conscientious about my health from an early age. Later, I was diagnosed with a chronic condition called Interstitial Cystitis, and I realized that my body needed to be nurtured with better ingredients in both my diet and daily essentials. From there, I went on to graduate from Michigan State in 2023 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Through my education, I developed a profound appreciation for the scientific method and a desire to better understand the workings of the world around me.

After starting my role as a Chemical Engineer, I shifted my attention back to stress management and prioritizing my health. I found solace in experimenting with new creations and discovering which ingredients worked best for my skin. That’s when I decided to turn making homemade products from a hobby into a way of life. I began sharing my soap creations with family and friends, and I was amazed by the overwhelmingly positive feedback I received. Not long after, Tallow House was planted, and we are now ascending into full bloom. I hope to help others on their health journey as well, by providing skincare products that support and work in harmony with our skin.
